Ra Workshop User Guide

Profile Components

There are situations in which a profile is not enough. At the same time, requiring the user to choose more than one profile or a combination thereof is not a friendly solution. Therefore, the notion of compound profile was introduced. From the phase of introducing information in the database you can see that some profiles are used in the same combination every time. To ease the work, you can define a compound profile that contains all the profiles that are used together. In the Assembly List compound profiles do not appear. They decompose in the components it contains.

Important: compound profiles have their code marked with a #. This character is reserved in Ra Workshop for composite profiles.

An example of composed profile is the profile of variable-angle change. As you can see from the picture below it consists (depending on the profile’s systems) of 2 connection profiles, a pipe and a masking profile. Basically in the program we will select the binding of two panels profile FP004-009#, and in the list of materials there will be a piece FP004-034, two pieces FP004-011 and a piece FP004-009.

Important: when a compound profile is added to the consumption it is splitted to its subcomponents. That's why if a compound profile has 3 subcomponents you will see 3 profiles in consumption and not only one.

Add Profile Component
To introduce a component in a profile click on the first registration (where it says: "Click here to enter a new registration") and choose from the column Code the profile code that will be included as a component. Based on the selection the Name parameter is automatically completed.

A compound profile may contain more pieces of a certain profile. Quantity column is used to specify the number of pieces of the component.
There is cases when a profile that belowgs to a compund product need to have the reverse color combination that the compund profile. In this case you should check 'Reverse Color Combination' option for that profile.
