Profile is the basic functional unit of Ra Workshop application. Its definition contains a complex set of information from geometric parameters (i.e. thickness, width) to information on how to use color and price.

The profile dialogue is accessed through Materials » Profiles » Profiles menu as seen from the picture below:

The Profile Dialog allows the following operations: add, change, delete, copy / paste, print, export. For each facility access the corresponding button on the toolbar.

You can also filter the results in the profile grid view by profile system

Add Profiles
Unlike other items placed in the database, the profile can not be perfectly defined by entering the information in the grid above. To enter a new profile the Add button on the toolbar is is used exclusively . This opens a special dialog window with the properties (parameters) of a profile:

General information below should be filled according:

Code. Mandatory, must be unique. This is the code of the profile. In reports or drawings a complete code of a profile will appear. It is obtained from the base code and the prefix and suffix of the color combination used. For details, read Color Combinations.
Name. Profile's name / short description.
Profile type. Depending on the type of profile (i.e. Frame, mullion, etc.) other parameters will be filled. For details, read Profile Types.
Material type. Available types: PVC, aluminum and wood. Depending on this option the application changes its behavior to better adapt to the users requirements. (i.e.: for a series of PVC, will use the linear meter prices, whereas for a series of aluminum, will use a system for calculating the price per kg).
Currency. Currency in which the profile prices are introduced. For information about the currency conversion system read Currency Exchange Rate page.

To save the information press the OK button.

Change Profiles
Select the row with the profiles you want to modify and edit the desired fields. An easier option of editing is by using the edit button on the toolbar. This opens the window above in which the editing is more intuitive.
To save the information to press the Save button on the toolbar.

Delete Profiles
Select the rows you wish to remove and press the Delete button or the corresponding button on the toolbar. To save the information press the Save button on the toolbar.

Important: a profile that is used in a compound profile can not be deleted. First off the profile is taken out from the compound profile and then deleted.
