As I mentioned the database is critical for the results calculated by the application. Thus the need arises to make changes to the database to better adapt the requirements of your company. In order to help the user Ra Workshop has the feature Import data. Thus, any changes made by you or by the Pyramid Software technical department can be easily distributed to all Ra Workshop users.

Import Menu
The dialog working with the data imports is accessed through the Materials » Tools » Import menu as you can see from the picture below:

Select Import Data
Accessing the import menu opens a dialog box through which you must choose an export file (with a .rad extension).

Import Options
Each tab contains a list of information contained in the selected file. Import options are set based on the export file. They can be modified before importing. Depending on the selected tab the import options differ.

• Add new data. New data will be added to the existing database. (Ex: importing a new system)
• Update existing data. Imports will change the data that are already in the database based on the information of the exported file. (Ex: Updating property - code, name, etc. - Profiles and accessories).
• Delete unimported data. Selecting this option will have the effect of erasing all the data that exists in the database, but doesn’t exist in the export file.
• Update prices. Specify if the application will update the materials prices or it will keep the existing ones.
• Update profile’s geometry. Selecting this option will lead to upgrading the geometric parameters of profiles, windows, accessories and hardware, based on data from the export file. (i.e.: if you find a mistake in the definition of a profile this option will allow us to do a export file will correct the error once it is imported.)
