Color Combinations Lists

Depending on the type of material and producer profiles may be available in a variety of colors. For an accurate calculation of hardware for all combinations of colors, they were grouped in lists based on various criteria that we detail below.

Important: everywhere in this documentation or in the application where the expressions "profile color", "series color" or "color list" are used, a combination of colors is to be understood.

Color Lists Menu
The dialogue working with colors lists is accessed through Materials » Color Lists menu seen in the picture below:

Color Lists Dialog
The color list dialog allows the following operations: add, change, delete, copy / paste, print, export. For each feature access the corresponding button on the toolbar.

Color lists will be used to link accessories and hardware colors to profile colors. In practice, the most common color for hardware are white, brown and black. As seen, profiles have other colors (i.e.: White, Golden Oak, Mahogany). A color list will tell the application what color of accessory to use for a specified profile. For example, for a PVC window a brown hinge (that is an interior accesory) will be used for interior colors: silver grey, irish oak, dark green, black cherry, etc. So we will create a color list called 'Interior Brown Accessories' and we add all color combinations that contains that interior color. When defining brown hinge accessory we select it's color list 'Interior Brow Accessories'. For more information read Accessories.

In the picture below you see two lists called PVC – White interior hardware and PVC – Brown interior hardware. The first list contains a combination of colors: White/Null/Null. Keyword Null tells the program to ignore the middle color and the exterior color (will match any color on the middle and exterior side). When the application will try to see in what list of colors is the profile color and / or window color it will find it in the list only if the current interior profile color is white. Similarly the color list for brown pieces of hardware which are mounted on the inside contains only items with shades of brown at the interior. The best example is a glazing bead that need to match color only on the exterior and inside and interior are Null.
