There are situations in which we will want to make a database backup. Example: before reinstalling the operating system or before making major changes to the database. Ra Workshop gives the user the possibility to Backup/Restore.

To make a database backup access the menu Materials » Tools »
Backup Database as seen in the picture below:
Save Database
To save a database (to create a backup) the application needs the
information to connect to the SQL server. Pyramid Software
recommends the use of windows autentification. This means that the
user that makes the backup needs to have access to the SQL
server
After the autentification you need to specify the address at which to save the database and the name of the database.
Important: the SQL server (the user under which the SQL
server works) needs to have writing access to the folder in which
he wants to create the backup.
